How can I send information from computer to computer?

I have a Toshiba Laptop and an EMachine Desktop PC. They both have Windows 7. The Toshiba laptop’s USBs are broken so I can’t send music/videos etc. through a USB. I can connect them via ethernet cable. How do I send information from computer to computer using the network they are both on?

Create a Homegroup so they can share files.
